If you are ok with being my teacher a second. Do you mean folders in your home have your native language? And I mean if you type ls -la ~/ in a terminal does your folders not have English names?
I am asking this because I simply do not know and would love to learn.
Thank you for teaching me, I had no idea.
You are probably on to something with those config files, but maybe backwards.
I think the paths should be to the directories as they exist in Russian, and I suspect those directories might change name on your desktop if you change the language for the entire desktop to English.
I don’t think they will ever change name in the filesysten, that would probably potentially break a LOT of stuff.
But someone else will probably correct me here.
Could you do a ls -la ~/ and post the output?
It’s ok if you do not want to. This is your thread and if you feel I have taken over it with my questions I beg your forgiveness.
I don’t speak russian, but are these the “Documents” folders and such?
If so, I suspect they will NEVER change their name unless you reinstall with english as language. But I could be wrong. But it COULD be that if the KDE language is set to English MAYBE you would get english names in dolphin and such.
But again, could be wrong.
ehhh, for some reason when I was on Ubuntu with kde, right when I turned it on, they gave me a message about changing the folder names, but here it doesn’t work(
Ubuntu is debian based, Manjaro is arch based, NEVER use debian based commands with Manjaro.
Always use the Arch wiki for instructions on how to do things.
Ubuntu does a TON of stuff to “simplify” for the user, arch VERY rarely do that for you.
That is probably the explanation.
But focus on fixing your gpu so you know how to get that working.
Then if you can not fix the language problem, the last resort is to reinstall.
The best approach for you I think is to learn how to set everything up and then restart with a fresh install setting everything up as YOU want it directly in the install, language f.ex.
It is still a bit unclear to me what languages you DO want to use, but if it is English, your directories should probably be in English too. If you want your KDE to be in Russian, the directories should probably be named like they are now.
Uninstall your Nvidia drivers (you installed from the web page) with the uninstall script that came with the installation (or there will be a ton of files leftover creating problems for you).
Then use mhwd to install the correct nvidia drivers.
You can type mhwd -l to see what drivers the system recommends you to install.
Also note that we have a Pусский section of our forum if you prefer to speak in Russian. However, since this is primarily an English forum, you did well providing English and Russian text in your post.
