Help with Keyboard Input Lag in browsers

Hey, I am using the latest stable branch of manjaro linux with zsh shell and KDE plasma desktop enviroment. I have input lag with my keyboard, which is integrated into my latop. (a Razerblade 2020 edition) It is always noticeable, but mostly when typing fast in applications such as google docs or VSCode. I tried fixes listed in some other posts, but none seem to work.

(The lag is minimal btw, but as someone who just switched from windows, it is pretty annoying)

Thanks in advance!

  • Go to System Settings
  • Type keyb
  • Click Keyboard Settings
  • Ensure the Keyboard model is correct and contact your hardware vendor for a Linux layout in the unlikely case your specific layout would not be present.
  • Test the keyboard layout in the Type here to test your keyboard field.

:crossed_fingers:

Hey man thanks for the reply! So in the “test your keyboard here” field I do not see the delay that I might in other programs. The layout also seems to be correct. Actually, the delay seems to happen mostly in browsers, (I have tested LibreWolf, Firefox, and Chrome)

I am thinking that perhaps it could do with my laptop being on battery, and being slower or somethin?

I am not sure, I will keep working on it

An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you further. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

Alright, here it is. BTW, please let me know if there is any ID that wasnt filtered.

  • Kernel 5.13 is EOL so please install both 5.4 and 5.10 LTS (Long Term Support) and see which one of the two troubles you least.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, we’ll take it from there…

:bowing_man:

Thanks man! Unfortunatly, LTS does not work on this laptop, it does not detect my graphics card or my networking card. So I will just deal with the lag I gues, I am getting used to it already.

I really apreciate the help tho!

Please read this:

Especially the Linux has multiple kernels section, then try the latest Stable kernel and remember you’re on the fast development channel and you should upgrade your kernel often!

:crossed_fingers:

Will do! Also, that is basicly me, I was a windows power user who recently switched. Thanks man, you have been a huge help! The good karma is all coming your way lol
