Hi all, I try to update but pamac stops. With Nethogs, I see ALPM downloading, what is ALPM?
Thanks
O, and why could pamac terminate?

If you mean the GUI, it is probably due to a library being updates. There are many requests about this on the forum.
not the GUI (I do not update that way) but a terminal/console (Ctrl-Alt-F4 in this case, that is my update terminal) - I’ll give pacman a try, otherwise…
thanks, you de-stressed my morning…

Unknown - suffice to say - it happens from time to time.
Often pamac continues in the background - so one thought is a gtk library that changes midflight.
I suggest you look at the issue tracker on
- GitHub - manjaro/pamac: Graphical Package Manager for Manjaro Linux with Alpm, AUR, Appstream, Flatpak and Snap support
- GitHub - manjaro/libpamac: Library for Pamac based on libalpm
- GitHub - manjaro/pamac-cli: Terminal Package Manager for Manjaro Linux with Alpm, AUR, Appstream, Flatpak and Snap support
Or you could simply use the console - as pacman is a cli utility won’t stop midflight due to unexpected changes.
sudo pacman -Syu
AH! And THIS is what I saw in Nethogs and Top (I practically live in the console, it seems)…hence my panic (again) about a rogue process running wild…but…it was all normal…just an other day in Manjaro Land ![]()
