GUI MIDI file player?

I have installed Timidity++, but it does not register itself in the applications list. I could play a MIDI file from terminal using it, but that is inconvenient. I could start its GUI by passing -ig parameter, but the GUI was old and sucked.

VLC and Lollypop could not play the MIDI file.

Other than Timidity++, is there anything else?

It doesn’t include a desktop file so it would not.

That’s because it still uses Gtk2. Eventually, any Gtk2 application that can’t use Gtk3 will be dropped from the Arch repos. See Arch Linux - Todo: GTK 2 EOL

Perhaps something in the AUR (Arch User Repository)?

pamac search midi player

Dmidiplayer. Flatpak package.

VLC and Audacious use fluidsynth for playback of .mid audio files

midiworld.com - Ride of the Valkyrie
midiworld.com - Hall of the Mountain King
midiworld.com - Toccata & Fugue in D minor

I just noticed this was a two-year-old thread.
