Grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for Microsoft/Boot/boot

I’m not sure if it is related to the update, probably it’s just me, but after it I started to have this error in update-grub:

/usr/bin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi. Check your device.map.

A grub entry for Windows is still created but it doesn’t work.

This is not an “ask for support” post. Just if anyone else can confirm/deny this. Thanks.

Edited: Ok. Keep walking, nothing to see… just me being dumb and forgetting that I had edited some os-prober file to make a test and now it was paying back

Please have a look at the older issues, first item. If that’s not it, open a new topic in #support

However, could you do me a favour and:

  • edit your question by pressing the 3 dots and the pencil icon
  • make it into a real question
  • cut and paste the solution into a reply to your own question
  • click the 3 dots below your own answer to mark a solution like this:
    Solution
so that the next person that has the exact same problem you just had will benefit from your post as your question will now be in the “solved” status.

:crossed_fingers:

Ok. I’ll make that, but as I stated in my post, I was not asking for help, I just wanted to confirm or not the problem. In my opinion it’s just better to delete the post, as it doesn’t help anybody.
