Grub Issues with btrfs & ext4

Had a spare drive so I thought I would give btrfs a go. Set the bios to boot from the spare drive, installed manjaro using btrfs. All went OK. Installed with no issues & grub works OK for the btrfs drive. However, using the btrfs grub to boot into the manjaro drive that it sees with ext4 it has issues.

It starts to boot then after a couple of seconds it stops & just sits there doing nothing.

I went into the bios & changed the boot order to boot ext4 first & the exact same thing happens.

Have I messed up ext4 or am I missing something?

False alarm.
I booted to ext4 & walked away. When I came back I was dropped to ‘emergency mode’.
It took about five minutes but I finally got to the prompt where I could do something.
Had a look at the ext4 fstab file. Boof head me installed the btrfs system on one of those drives which of course changed things. Edited it out, reboot & it booted up to ext4 straight away.

No problems at all. pebkac

I hope there’s a long-term cure. :adhesive_bandage: :smile_cat:
