Google Meet shows standard audio output only

I’m running Manjaro with Plasma on my Lenovo ThinkBook.

#inxi -Fxz
System:
  Kernel: 6.12.34-1-MANJARO arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 15.1.1
Desktop: KDE Plasma v: 6.3.5 Distro: Manjaro base: Arch Linux

I’ve attached a Logitech Brio 500 and Jabra Evolve2 75 to my USB-C dock. When trying to start a video conference with Google Meet, I can select only standard audio output for sound:

Testing my hardware with Jitsi Meet or Zoom there isn’t any problem and I’m able to select every output device explicitly. I’m using Firefox as browser. Is this a known “bug” in Google Meet or what’s the problem here?

It might be a limitation of the software, but that’s only a guess.

Please provide system information as described (below) to empower others to make a better guess.

Regards.

Welcome to the Manjaro community

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command with appropriate parameters will achieve this (naturally, formatted according to forum guidelines) and will generally be more useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form:

inxi -zv8

Be prepared to provide output from other commands whenever asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Pretty much, a limitation or an incompatibility in Google Meets itself. The same occurs in Google Chrome.

I wonder if the desktop client will be a bit more flexible?:

pamac search -a google-meet
silo-google-meet 0.1-1 AUR
Standalone silo app for Google Meet
google-meet-nativefier 1.0.0-2 AUR
Google Meet desktop built with nativefier (electron)

The second one I guess should be sufficient. Don’t know what the first one would be for.

This is of course if you are confident using AUR packages.

If so, then issue pamac build google-meet-nativefier

Thanks, but I try to avoid AUR.

You still haven’t provided the system info requested in post #2:

It may be difficult to find a solution without that detailed system information.

…by doing what, exactly? Clicking a link? Opening it in a browser?

Help us help you by providing enough information so we don’t have to ask you questions.

Please post the full output from inxi. We prefer the -zv8 flags as recommended by the developer.

Please see:

Sorry, for late reply.

I’ve done the tests for the different providers in Firefox only by starting a new call.
