I think I might have b0rked tracker. I wrote a script to stop tracker (killall -STOP
all the tracker processes) whenever the system load got too high, and about once per day, it will put the kibosh on tracker, and resume it (killall -CONT
) after about a minute. I wrote it, because in my previous experiences with tracker, it froze my system (same system as I’m on now) HARD.
Anyway, it seems a lot better behaved now, but it hasn’t ever finished indexing everything. I have about 500GB of files, so it’s not too insanely massive.
