GNOME Terminal is missing the New Tab option

Cinnamon Terminal is missing the open new TAB option. One of the testing updates has broken it.

I know this is a minor issue but hinders my workflow really bad.

was it reported to the Cinnamon developers?

Not yet probably, have not found a bug report. Will do.

I would test that CtrlAltT opens a new terminal, then CtrlShiftT should open a new tab  though I’m sure it’s annoying, I never actually used a menu to do those tasks, so I’m not much help otherwise…

Bug report is open issue 12977

Based on Cinnamon Developer feedback, it is a new feature, not a bug. The button is now hidden in the right-click menu when hovering within the terminal window frame.

The terminal used with Cinnamon on both Manjaro Cinnamon and Linux Mint Cinnamon is GNOME Terminal.

As mentioned in the issue, Linux Mint only has the context menu option:

However, on Manjaro Cinnamon, it’s neither in the File menu nor in the context menu as you mentioned. I’m not sure why.

For reference, this is what it looks like on Manjaro GNOME. Notice the New Tab button in the upper left.

Yes, it does for all of the above as it’s default.
