I’m getting a lot of “429 Too many requests” notifications when trying to access the forum at the moment. Not sure how this is managed so posting here as a heads up in case something needs to be done to prevent an outage.
Are you using a VPN?
This is entirely guess work.
Manjaro buys hosting at Hetzner - and they may deploy network rules which by coincidence is seeing your public IP as a possible ddos source.
I have connected to server console and looking at htop everything looks OK.
There is good utilization of memory 11G of 16G used.
Uptime 71 days (since last OS update)
I am runnig an OS update - and in a few minutes I reload the OS.
No, but I’ve tried it with the VPN to exclude DNS issues and it occurs both with and without it.
Also its intermittent so I would expect that excludes network rules.
It appeared there was some necessary discourse maintenance to do.
It only became obvious after the reboot which didn’t bring the forum online.
Upon further investigation, I came around the discourse maintenance task.
Is there a better way to report these things?
I think you did just fine - thank you for that - I saw your topic - and within a short window I had the OS updated and the discourse app rebuilt.
I have been co-sysop on the forum-server since December and on the wiki-server since the last white-out.
