Hello,

I want this folder icon back:

How did you lose them?
Normally, you just select a theme through the Xfce settings → Appearance (which has got multiple tabs …)
The green one is Matcha Dark Sea (or something like that) and the Papirus Maja icon theme.
The default Xfce theme … I don’t know how it is called.
In /usr/share/themes is one that is called “Default”
You might need to install the Xfce default theme - you should find it when looking for theme or themes in the software install app.
Do you mean the Theme as Nachlese suggests (blue and green), or do you mean the mini pictograms like the note inside the folders? If it is the second one i am not sure but i guess the special theme icons get applied to the XDG folders, so you might want to check if the “special” folders are really “special”.
[teo@teo-lenovo-v15 ~]$ cat $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/user-dirs.dirs
# This file is written by xdg-user-dirs-update
# If you want to change or add directories, just edit the line you're
# interested in. All local changes will be retained on the next run.
# Format is XDG_xxx_DIR="$HOME/yyy", where yyy is a shell-escaped
# homedir-relative path, or XDG_xxx_DIR="/yyy", where /yyy is an
# absolute path. No other format is supported.
#
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="$HOME/Downloads"
XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates"
XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="$HOME/Public"
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="$HOME/Documents"
XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/Music"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/Pictures"
XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="$HOME/"
p.s. and thanks to you i just realized my video folder is not “officially” set and i am gonna fix it now.
p.p.s. yep, xdg-user-dirs-update --set VIDEOS ~/Video and restarting fixed my pictogram inside the folder too.
… but first you would need to install xdg-user-dirs.
I would rather change the emblem of a newly created folder as explained here:
I think it is installed by default. Adding an emblem is always an option, but the “official way” for the “special” folders is this. Not that it matters much to be honest. Especially since i use the list view and those pictures are several pixels big. ![]()
I used your example to fix my pictograms inside pictures and Music folders:
Thanks
