"Geometry Dash" on Steam is not launching

I’m trying to run Geometry Dash through Steam, but after I click play the game launches for a second and then presumably crashes. The only output I see on the terminal is "WARNING: Using default/fallback debugger launch. I have installed the nvidia drivers and the 32 bit versions of it, so I don’t know what’s wrong.

It has a platinum rating on ProtonDB. Maybe there’s tips there that will help.

I managed to get the game running for 2 seconds by using a newer version of Proton, but it still doesn’t work.
