I was able to open VT3 and run ‘startx’ and that works. So something is just wrong with GDM And good call on timeshift, i will look in to that once this mess is fixed, although my root partition is still ext4 :frowning: Also i use disk encryption, so i don’t think grub will be able to see my snaps…

Urgh, when the screen locks I can’t unlock it either. What a s*** show.

To be fair, it is not the failure of the Manjaro Team. It is just Gnome 40 which has a lot changes which breaks the UI and that was expected. I guess some extension cause this issue. Disable them :wink:

I tried disabling all user extensions and it made no difference. I’ve also looked in to the GDM service log after turning on debugging in gdm.conf and there’s nothing concerning in there.

I see. Sorry i did not read it properly. In my case GDM worked fine. What happens if you do startx from tty? Deactivate the extensions anyway just to avoid extra problems.
