I use bluetooth headphones for audio, and every time I start a game the audio profile gets switched from “High Fidelity Playback” to “Headset Head Unit”. Every time I start a game I have to manually go and switch it back to high fidelity, and if I don’t do it fast enough high fidelity actually disappears from the options and I’m forced to reset my headphones.
I’ve run into this issue on multiple different headphones, though it’s all bluetooth. I just want it to stay on the profile I’ve selected, and I can’t find anyway to disable the other profiles.
I’ve been having this issue literally since I started using Manjaro, and have looked for solutions but somehow just cannot find anything on it. I’d greatly appreciate any solution for this issue.

Welcome to the Manjaro community! It may help of you post some system info e.g. inxi -zv8
and use the </> button at the top of the reply window to format the selected, pasted text.
This is a known issue with e.g. Skype. When using a BT headset it switches to “telephony” mode (or otherwise known as “muffle mode”).
I too would like to see a solution for that, in other words to force A2DP. I prefer to use the camera’s built-in microphone anyway. It seems quite reliable these days when connecting for media playback (browser or smplayer, etc.) at least with the current LTS kernels. I’m on 6.6 at present.
I guess these games are expecting headset mode, like Skype does. This is still food for thought for me, unfortunately.

I’ll try and remember to add that in the future.

That seems to be the solution, however there’s no default.pa in my /etc/pulse/ folder do you know if I can manually generate it or if I just need to create the file. Please forgive my lack of knowledge, I’m still on the newbie end of the spectrum.
System data shows PipeWire in use rather than PulseAudio
PipeWire - Automatic profile selection - ArchWiki
WirePlumber has profile auto-switching enabled by default. It can automatically switch between HSP/HFP and A2DP profiles whenever an input stream is detected. You can disable it with the following command:
wpctl settings --save bluetooth.autoswitch-to-headset-profile false

Thanks for that. That was my mistake, I still mix up pulse and pipewire. I did get it fixed by creating the file mentioned in the pipewire link you originally sent. Once again thanks for the help, this has been driving me crazy for close to a year now.
