no need to disable pulseaudio. if you want to switch to pipewire just install manjaro-pipewire and enter yes for every conflict.

That worked, now it’s only running pipewire.

Should I consider abandoning this install?

I don’t know. I don’t think anyone can answer that. I will say, however, that sometimes it’s easier and quicker.

I have done it myself. With excellent results. My current Manjaro installation is because I abandoned my previous one. Just got fed up one day with a problem I was having and decided to reinstall.

Last thing I can recommend you check, is see if you have any unmerged .pacnew files:

sudo DIFFPROG=meld pacdiff

Also, make sure you are using an LTS kernel. IIRC your current kernel is 5.15, which is the latest LTS, but just for thoroughness’ sake, try 5.10 and/or 5.4 as well. Who knows? It might make a difference.
