Fresh install: black screen with cursor after logging in

Hi

I’m currently making an other attempt at switching from windows to linux. I’ve installed a fresh instance of Manjaro (KDE Plasma). After I’ve rebooted after the install I’m greeted with the usual login-screen from manjaro. After successfully logging in I’m greeted by a black screen with a functioning cursor and the welcome-app from Manjaro. Everything else (like taskbar, …) is missing.

I can use TTY (CTRL + ALT + F4). If I call startx from the TTY-Session the Desktop seems to start (but most apps like Add/Remove Software, nvidia-settings, …) just load a while and never open. Other things like Firefox or Settings work without any problems.

I’ve already tried reinstalling Manjaro but sadly the problem still occurs.

Hardware:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

There is - literally - dozens upon dozens of similar topics - please use the search function - top right corner :mag:

I’ve already looked through them before posting this. Most of them are about having this problem after making some changes to the system. In my case it’s a fresh install and I haven’t changed anything. Sadly none of them resolved my issue or helped me to identify the cause of my problem. I can only offer to submit additional information about my system and some logs.

Maybe try selecting X11 instead of Wayland. You should see the option at the bottom of the login screen if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the input. It works fine with X11, so it only seems to be a problem with wayland.
