Fonts blurred on the start menu

I am on the KDE plasma version of Manjaro 20.0.3. The text/fonts below the icons in the start menu panel sometimes go blur and the text is not readable. It works when I close out the menu a few times and reopen it or change the desktop theme. Is this a bug or something I messed up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

If by changing the theme solves the issue, then make sure the actual theme you want to use is updated.
Try to clean the content of ~/.cache/ folder in your user home, reboot and see if the issue persists.

Are you running compton / picom?

If you kill it, does the blurring vanish?

Thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a try

Not sure if it already comes by default, but I have not installed it manually.

@bogdancovaciu, I tried with different themes. Issue is intermittent but goes away if If I change some UI settings like changing the theme or fonts or icons etc. Comes back eventually again.

I am not allowed to share images or links yet so not able to show you guys.

Provide from terminal
inxi -Fxza --no-host

Use the default settings and themes, after you clean the cache and do a couple of reboots. If the issue is not present, then might be related to the themes you set and are not provided by us.
If the compositor crashes, then that might be also a hint. Set it like this:

Thanks for your response. I have been using the default theme and have tried using other themes as well. The compositor settings we Set to OpenGL 2.0 first but I have matched the settings you have provided with still no luck after reboot. Here is the sys info from the terminal output you had asked:

i suggest to remove the video-linux driver, and then try this

and this

IMHO it should help with the font issue too.

@bogdancovaciu - Thanks for the detailed explanation and sorry for the delay in response. After removing the video-linux driver, I am not seeing the issue from the past couple of days.
It may have done the trick. But have not made the other plasma config changes. Will try it out if the issue re-appears and will keep monitoring. But for now it looks good to close.

I appreciate your help and assistance regarding the issue.

Cheers!
