Flatpak refuses to install nvidia driver due to metadata issues

Hello again, running into a weird issue here while trying to upgrade the flatpak version of nvidia drivers after system update. This is the output:

$ flatpak update

Installation complete.

Note that this is the system-wide installation of flatpak. However, when I try to install it in user (with --user flag) installation, it does get installed without a problem. But I prefer having it in the system-wide installation because thats where all my flatpak apps are installed.

Outside flatpak, the driver works without any problems. The driver got updated alongside the change to kernel 6.13 because I wanted to try it.

I opened an issue on the flathub repo as well.

Update: I rebooted back into 6.6 LTS and installed again. It worked as expected this time and now I can use my dGPU in flatpak apps.

I still cannot find the cause on why flatpak seems to error out on 6.13 kernel but considering its still in RC stage in Manjaro repos, I guess I should wait and see until its release.

I’ve marked your own post as the Solution, as it resolved your issue. The latest-and-greatest isn’t always the best for every scenario.

Perhaps look at 6.13 again in a few months once it matures (that is, if it lives that long and isn’t forced EOL).

Regards.
