Firefox moving bookmarks to new linux computer newbie

I am having trouble importing favorite

bookmarks to a new pc. Maybe I can’t

export then import html file?

Open firefox profile folder in your old computer, copy places.sqlite file to the firefox profile folder in your new computer and it’s done.

I just open Manage Bookmarks and export then import. It creates a JSON file that includes not only bookmarks, but other user data as well.

Or create a sync account on the old computer, then connect the new computer the same account - that is what Firefox Sync is designed for.

  1. Any issue with Firefox, I can completely refresh it and sign in to synchronise - then Firefox rebuilds the profile folder.
  2. I can copy from my hourly incremental backups.

Sync is the top answer here - as it means I can continue and access bookmarks from any device.
