For a few months Firefox has randomly frozen my computer when opening a new tab. The only solution is to hard reset.
In the last days, it appears more and more frequently (before it was 1 in 2 weeks, now several times a day). It’s maybe more likely when the new tab is a “heavy page” like a youtube page or Google map?.
I’ve disabled all the addons but to no avail.
How can I debug this? It looks like some memory leak maybe???

I’m also getting problematic firefox tabbed behavior for at least a week as well. For me, freezing is self-contained within firefox itself and I can either kill it, or wait until item actions repaint by minimizing/maximizing from the task bar. There is a journalctl dump to work with, but no firefox crash report:

Memory leaks have plagued firefox for years, but I believe this is different hw issue. Youtube seems to be a common occurrence when all the tabs freeze up for me.
edit: looks like my issues appear to have resolved after updating to v106. Will update later if freezing still occurs.
