I have a peculiar issue with Firefox on the website biblehub.com
When I want to pull up a Bible chapter, for the first time on the site, it works just fine. I can type John 3
and it comes right up.
Now as long as I only scroll up and down, I can still enter another chapter, such as James 2, and it will come up. It seems I can do this forever.
Now if I enter into the search box the VERSE John 3:3 onto a fresh load of the page, it comes up just fine. But if I enter a new search be it John 3:31 or Dt4 (short for Deuteronomy), it goes goofy with a blank page and the URL
I can use FIrefox on my phone and other browsers on Manjaro laptop and none of them have this problem. It seems to be unique to Firefox on Manjaro?? or maybe some or all flavors of Linux??
Another one is if I search for a word or phrase from a fresh load of the page such as āI AMā and click on one of the hits and then enter another search (a verse cite or a word or phrase) in that search box, I get the same problem.
So when I am studying the Bible, I have to constantly get a fresh load of the page to do another search. Also, I cannot simply do a ā back arrow to the previous page and redo the search. that will bonk too.
There is some kind of method to the madness but I cannot put my finger on it!
If anyone can figure this one out, I will be MIGHTY impressed! AND GRATEFUL!!

Do you use some adblocker or similar plugin in Firefox? I got it to work, but after disabling adblocking.
The site code structure and coding is quite old and probably can cause problems on some browsers. Developers of the site maybe havenāt tested it properly on Firefox.
Iām afraid if we rule out addons or browser security settings as the culprit, this likely has little to do with Firefox, and certainly has nothing to do with Manjaro.
Your first port of call should probably be the creators of the site(s) themselves. Any credible site has contact information which should be easily found; perhaps even a contact form to report site issues.
Iām sure whosoever is responsible for maintaining these sites will appreciate knowing there is an issue ā it will no doubt be in their best interest to fix the problem as soon as they are able to.
Regards.
Edit:-
As mentioned, the site is rather old, and obviously broken. It seems to be missing the main (home) page, as entering https://biblemenus.com/ only reveals the sites directory structure and files (Index of /).
This might be advantageous, as you can also use that to navigate to pages you wish to open (or download).
I have reached out to Firefox and Biblehub but have not yet heard back. This problem started about three years ago. Iāll try reaching out to them again.
I also vote for poorly coded or maintained website. Domain redirection as the shown above can be used to serve malware and phishing, so nowadays it is often blocked for example from adblockers or other security extensions.
So besides contacting the site owners you can try disabling adblock for that particular site and the other domain with the blank page.
Intersting! I have ad-blocker disabled for this site and I registered and paid for service. It loads faster but the problem still persists. And I am rather addicted to biblehub so maybe I should switch to Opera or Brave or somethingā¦
Thank you, Mirdarthos. I am quite addicted to biblehub, though. Iāll take another look at the gateway. Another one I am fond of is blueletter Bible since you can search the LXX by Strongās number! Very powerful research tool!
Otherwise, I may need to switch to Opera or Brave or something.
