I exported bookmarks as html file from PCLOS KDE plasma Firefox. I tried importing them to Firefox in Manjaro KDE plasma. It says they were imported but I never see them in the bookmarks bar. What am I not doing or doing wrong?
It imports them, but to a new folder, I forget what it’s called, but you will have to move them to make it work. Next time export them to a JSON file, everything will get imported like you want.
I also tried the json file but I will have to hunt the new folder. Thanks
Is it a hidden file?
It should be not be hidden, you should see it when you open “Manage Bookmarks” maybe it’s called other bookmarks or Imported bookmarks. The JSON should of replaced all your bookmarks. If it didn’t then maybe your export didn’t work. In which case something else is going on. You can open both the html and json files in a text editor and see if there is anything there.
the json file said 159 bookmarks imported. I will keep looking and trying. Thanks for your help.
I see them. they are listed under Bookmarks Menu. I will have to figure out how to save them.
Using the bookmarks manager, you can drag & drop them to where you want them, and then when the parent folder of the imported bookmarks is empty, you can delete that one.
I’ve already had to do it several times, with bookmarks from both chromium
and firefox
. I’ve even imported them into falkon
.
