Hello,
I have a problem with Netflix, Spotify etc with Firefox, in plugins I have this message ‘Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. will be installed shortly.’
This is never completed. I tried with live manjaro KDE, to check if is from Firefox or Manjaro, and I get the same message
For Spotify all I had to do was turn on DRM in Firefox, no plugins required.
The problem is with Widevine, is not installed
Widevine is deprecated since the beginning of this year. Are you sure you are fully up to date?
Correction: that is true for Chrome, i just tested and it seems Firefox still uses it.
Moderator edit: Unknown file link removed
You have to enable DRM in Firefox settings for Widevine to get installed and used.
The Archwiki still has the section (which doesnt definitively mean its still current, but …)
Anyhoo, if things are working as described there … the download bar thing should complete after being accepted. If it does not that could indicate some issue downloading it.
What does that have to do with Firefox?
Nothing, i made a mistake thinking it affects Firefox too.
