There are several, but you may have tried turning the following on and off.
As far as I can see, YouTube seems to be using vp9/webm a lot these days.
I’m on an AMD desktop and just ran into this problem. None of these fixes seem to apply (haven’t tried rolling back yet). Not only will e.g., Youtube videos not play, but I have a dedicated profile for playinf videos from my Emby server, and those won’t play, either.

I also tried it with other websites, not only youtube as i mentionend already.
Maybe its not related to Firefox? This could be a distro audio issue.
