In gnome, my wired network is working fine, but connection icon shows as a square in top right bar:
How can I fix this?
Wlan icon is working fine:
Not a Gnome user myself, but I guess there are options to try a different icon theme? Maybe the one you are using didn’t get fully updated, assuming it was working before.
Are your mirrors fully up-to-date? Mirror-Check Service
As always, a bit more system info may help (and will usually be asked for):

Oh yes, finally it’s icon theme that does not support correctly ethernet icon.
I was not aware that tray mini icons was related to icon set.
I was using Suru set which seems to be discontinued
Let’s find an other one
