Filelight pie chart no longer shown

It’s been some months since I last used filelight, so I cannot exactly say which update caused this problem.

Filelight no longer shows the pie chart. Just an empty space in the window.
journalctl shows an error message when filelight is started:

qrc:/ui/OverviewPage.qml:11:1: QML OverviewPage: Created graphical object was not placed in the graphics scene.

It seems to be Wayland-related. When I log in with an X session then everything’s fine. Does anyone have the same problem?

It works fine here in Wayland. However, I don’t have an invidious Nvidia GPU. :stuck_out_tongue:

I see the bug is reported:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502709

I removed my previous edit, as for some reason when I reboot the nvidia driver wasn’t apparently loaded correctly and that’s why filelight seemed work correctly. I did a full shutdown, then booted up and now the driver is correctly detected, but filelight doesn’t show the pie chart.

A quick glance at the bug report linked - it appears to be a Nvidia related issue.

Tested on all AMD - no issues.

Thanks to the user pallaswept, a workaround we can use in the meantime until it’s fixed is to change the environment variable for filelight: QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb filelight

What I did: I entered QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb into the Environment variables: section for Filelight using KDE Menu Editor.

I have the same problem, in clean install of manjaro from yesterday: not shows up in wayland the chart, but it does in x11.
