Would be nice to be able to get a larger image in pamac gui when user clicks the image. Currently it seems too small to see anything, and for some packages, even though the image is small, there is a lot of blank space above and below the image. example:
It is my understanding that the image(s) presented are greatly dependent on whatever the software developers themselves will provide; Manjaro has no direct control.
Often, they might send ‘any random thumbnail’ they have immediately available, and think no more of it. The best you might be able to achieve is to contact the specific application developer directly, and suggest the change.
Or, if you happen to be familiar with manipulating graphics, you might even consider creating images yourself, and offering them to the developer.
These would likely need to be your own work, and be accompanied by an appropriate license, naturally.
At least the flatpak images are severely downsized in pamac. That is why i just use flathub.
But the general state of pamac is such, that this is the smallest problem with it.
well, i agree “fix” was not the best word to use; just a minor detail i thought i’d bring to your attention cuz there are better larger images for most apps on other places like flathub.
No, never the image(s) - I always go by the description and name.
I search for a functionality - that can’t be deduced from a picture.
At least: I can’t do this.
Pamac GUI Details tab shows package description provided by package maintainer

Okay, nvm. Thanks for the great software and maintaining this awesome OS. Just wanted to point out an obvious missing feature that i thought might be easy to implement, but i must admit i don’t know anything about GTK apps.
Btw, the feature in question is providing a full scale image upon being clicked, just saying cuz i think there has been some misunderstanding, I never said it was the source images that were the problem, but that the application shows a scaled down image and does not zoom. Tools like kmagnifier does not do the same thing.
