Failed to start light display manager on every startup

Hi dear manjaro community, this is my first post in the forum so apologies in advance if i lack something.

When i startup light display driver fails to start and i am able to start the manager with tty using systemctl enable lightdm.service and systemctl start lightdm.service. Here is the errors on /var/log/Xorg.0.log :

[ 549.666] (EE) Failed to load module "intel" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 550.121] (II) Initializing extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
[ 550.615] (EE) libinput: DELL09A0:00 0488:121F Touchpad: Failed to create a device for /dev/input/mouse1
[ 550.615] (EE) PreInit returned 2 for "DELL09A0:00 0488:121F Touchpad"

I am using Dell Latitude 5410 with onboard graphics card (i7 10610U). I currently don’t have xf86-vide-intel installed because when i install the intel driver the display manager can start but my screen tears like when graphics card burns. (btw i only have fbdev and vesa installed)

Here is my inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width result:

There is no xorg.conf created on my system but at the arch wiki page for xorg notes that /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ is enough.

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

Please read this:

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)

:+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …

I’m not an intel nor lightdm user, but from your inxi output I’d say you have to use:

Hi, I’m having the same problem. your problem solved?
here is inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width output

sometimes it’s okay and can start display manager sometimes it’s not
