Failed to start file system check on dev/disk, dependecy failed for /home, dependecy failed for local file system

Good afternoon,
Thank you all for your kind help in getting my system on track again. I have used Manjaro since 2020 on this PC. However three days ago during restart I got a message that system failed to system check on (probably) root device and went into emergency mode. I tried timeshift to restore previous image (but failed with same message). I tried reinstalling the Manjaro but still get the same message.
This is my system.

Check this file:

cat /etc/fstab

Could be a problem with the /home mount point there.

Both outputs are cut off. So nothing useful in there.

This is another error log.

Ah wait it is the iso image :grimacing:

Which installation is it?

@megavolt, there was no encryption.
nvme0n1p8 is 512mb fat file for efi/boot.
sda3 is the /home
sda4 was previous swap that I forgot to delete in new installation.
However the problem arose before the new installation done today. So there was no issue with nvme0n1p9.

ah ok well… I assume you booted a live session.

Please chroot into the local installation:

sudo manjaro-choot -a

and check fstab again:

cat /etc/fstab

Thanks! I really need to learn the process behind the GUI.

[manjaro@manjaro ~]$ sudo manjaro-chroot -a

Can you clarify this? You have done a new installation, but the problem of the dependency error was before the new installation?

looks pretty correct.

Yes. The issue happened three days ago. I don’t know what may have caused it. There was no update pending. I tried to boot live iso dvd, tried timeshift and restored snapshot from last week from my separate home folder. However the problem persisted.
I reinstalled Manjaro 2 days ago and once again today. However it persist. I did not change anything in windows. (In fact I don’t use windows on this PC). So I don’t think there should be any issue with that side.

Ok since fstab is fully correct, I would say it is a filesystem error, which could not be solved easily without manual action. Therefore…

Type exit to close the chroot.

Unmount home: sudo umount /mnt/home

Now do a file system check:

sudo fsck.ext4 -fy /dev/sda3

If it is a HDD, then also check for badblocks:

sudo fsck.ext4 -fcck /dev/sda3

but this will take time depending on the size of the partition.

This will also search for badblock on the disk.

Seems like it has resolved the issue. I needed to restart the computer and now it has booted properly. It has even mounted the /home folder properly.

Thank you very much @megavolt, @brahma . It is much appreciated.
Is there any tutorial in how to learn basics about Linux and how to troubleshoot?
Kind regards to the Gurus!
