`Failed to find module 'nvidia-uvm'`...but I have an AMD graphics card

I’ve seen this for years and am finally doing something about it.

$ journalctl -p3 -b-1
Nov 23 15:12:55 bassam-manjaro systemd-modules-load[400]: Failed to find module 'nvidia-uvm'

I tried to remove nvidia-utils but

- removing nvidia-utils breaks dependency 'nvidia-utils' required by cuda

Can someone help?

Thanks!

Hi :slight_smile: Cuda is NVIDIA’s GPU programming toolkit. Without NVIDIA GPU it is of no use to you anyway, so you can uninstall it. In this context, I’m wondering why you have it installed anyway. Once Cuda is removed, you can uninstall the NVIDIA kernel modules and nvidia-utils as well.

What can I tell you, my friend, it’s always sort of been there, and I’ve been using manjaro for many years. Maybe I installed it in my more callous days?

In any case, just freed up more than 6GiB :open_mouth: :slight_smile:
