External monitor via usb hub -- can detect but cannot enable

Hello,

My laptop has a lot of ports but I personally prefer a clean desk setup so I just bought a usb hub and connects two external monitors. The usb hub is connected to my laptop via thunderbolt.

My issue is that somehow manjaro is only able to connect one of my two external monitors. If I enable one, another one can still be detected, see the screenshot below (here I am using BenQ as my external monitor, and Ancor is the one I wish to enable. Manjaro is able to idenitfy the monitor)


But when I enable it, it does not do anything. In fact when I close the setting and reopen, Ancor is not enabled again.

However, I notice

  • On windows using usb-c hub is working fine, windows can detect and enable both of my external monitors
  • Using my laptop’s own hub is also working fine, both external monitors can be enabled
  • When I disable BenQ and enable Ancor, it then becomes BenQ that can be detected but not enabled.

It can also find two monitors.
