what kind of keyring / passwordmanager does work together with evolution in Plasma.
All I want is to leave aconadi and baloo behind me.
Unfortunately evolution is a pure gnome app that is hardcoded to use gnome-keyring. You could try keyring-agnostic thunderbird. For plasma 5, trojita might be a decent qt5 alternative but I have never used it so can’t assure its reliability.
If you insist on using evolution, install gnome-keyring and seahorse with it.
