Everything gaming related is broken after update

Since someone closed the other thread on this topic, for a reason that seems due to some of the packages not being from the repos, I will make my own thread.

Lutris games do not work, Steam games do not work. Lutris from the repo, and steam runtime installed from the repo. Some launch and freeze, some do not launch at all. I am on KDE plasma/nvidia, but I have seen someone else on Gnome/nvidia mention this issue as well.

Reverting my system made it so that the games work again. On platforms from both in and out of the repo.

It was closed because the only remaining issue was with yuzu, which is dead because Nintendo accused them of “piracy”.

As for your problem, I won’t be able to help you, but others will likely need more information to help.

This seems to confirm that your issue is solved.

I see no point to opening a new support thread when no support is requested.

I have moved this thread to the Feedback category, which seems more appropriate.

Aside:- Incidentally, a forum Moderator closed your that previous thread for reasons that were clearly explained.

Requests for support relating to pirated software are generally not tolerated on any public forum.

Cheers.

If seems like it might be fixed. If you haven’t already you may want to take a look at this thread.

@soundofthunder

Actually it was someone else’s thread, this OP just said they had the same problem and that they fixed it by reverting to a backup. So pretty much what they said here.

Not sure Feedback is the right place either, but I don’t think we’ve got a “Random Statement” category. :man_shrugging:

@dmt

Ah, yes, I see. Thanks.

The generic avatars seem to blur into one so very easily.
Post edited accordingly.

Cheers.
