Ich kann die vielen Noto-fonts nicht mehr reduzieren.
Leider funktioniert es jetzt nicht mehr, nachdem es lange Zeit gut ging:
sudo nano /etc/pacman.conf
and then remove the # before NoExtract = and insert the entire suggested line:
NoExtract = usr/share/fonts/noto/* !*NotoSans-* !*NotoMono-* !*NotoSansDisplay-* !*NotoSansLinearB-* !*NotoSansMono-* !*NotoSansSymbols* !*NotoSerif-* !*NotoSerifDisplay-*
Weiß jemand, woran das liegen könnte?

Du musst das Präfix usr/share/fonts/noto/ mit einem Schrägstrich korrigieren; so:
NoExtract = /usr/share/fonts/noto/* !*NotoSans-* !*NotoMono-* !*NotoSansDisplay-* !*NotoSansLinearB-* !*NotoSansMono-* !*NotoSansSymbols* !*NotoSerif-* !*NotoSerifDisplay-*
Das könnte die Situation verbessern.

Wie macht sich das denn bemerkbar?
Ich habe nachgesehen - die Liste sollte wohl so nicht bleiben weil zwei der Font Familien gar nicht (mehr) im Paket enthalten sind - und zwar:
NotoMono-*
NotoSansDisplay-*
Die sind schon von Anfang an gar nicht mehr da.
Scheinbar waren sie ja mal da - jetzt sind sie aber gar nicht im Paket und können deshalb nicht vom Entpacken ausgenommen werden.

Auch wenn ich die Genauigkeit dessen nicht bezeugen kann, schien es ohne den / unvereinbar mit der üblichen /path/to/ Notation.
Danke für Eure Tipps. Auch mit dem / vor usr, also /usr… keine Verbesserung. Ich habe noch immer wirklich viele arabische oder asiatische Noto fonts.
Das Komische ist ja nur, dass es bis vor kurzem funktioniert hatte, nur bei meiner jetzigen Installation nicht mehr.
Thanks for your tips. Even with the / before usr, i.e. /usr… no improvement. I still have a lot of Arabic or Asian Noto fonts, but the funny thing is that it worked until recently, but not anymore with my current installation.
Das NoExtract wird nur bei Upgrade oder Installation aktiv. Da wird nichts entfernt, nachdem du das in der pacman.conf eingetragen hast.
Also, Dateien entfernen und nochmal neuinstallieren:
sudo rm /usr/share/fonts/noto/*
pamac reinstall noto-fonts

das funktioiert leider auch nicht.
Jetzt sind erst mal alle Noto-fonts weg, auch wenn sie sogar in pamac als installiert gelten.

Du wirst die erneute Installation wahrscheinlich forcieren müssen,
denn mit:
sudo rm /usr/share/fonts/noto/*
hast Du Dinge gelöscht, von denen der Paket Manager nicht weiß, daß sie auf einmal nicht mehr da sind
und “glaubt” daß sie eben schon da sind.
Also, es klappt (so halb) wenn man das / vor /usr/… weglässt.
Noch immer sind etliche nicht-lateinische noto fonts da:
Das Problem sind die noto-cjk, die müsste man weglassen können.

Wenn Du es nicht brauchen kannst … warum nicht einfach deinstallieren?

Diese habe ich nicht selbst installiert, die werden bei noto-fonts einfach mitinstalliert.
Aber man kann diese noto-fonts-cjk doch entfernen.
Und endlich bin ich die zahllosen Notos losgeworden.
Wie meinen bitte? Das ist eine optionale Abhängigkeit - warum sollte das “einfach mitinstalliert” werden?

OP hat auch gar nicht erwähnt, dass er eine kürzliche Neuinstallation vorgenommen hat und dadurch u.U. das Paket erhalten haben könnte.
