I have certain scripts that I want to run system wide. When I try on the konsole, it doesn’t show the flag variable I have which is used to check if configuration worked. But when I use the TTY shell from CTRL + ALT + F3, and then login (no GUI) it sources the /etc/profile, as I can see that variable in the env output.
I checked in plain archlinux (vagrant latest box archlinux/archlinux), sourcing of /etc/profile on bash login works, even in that case changing the profile script and running bash --login works.
Note: Please do not message if you have solution related to bashrc thing"
Nope, I don’t think so. Because when I manually source it in the konsole, it works. Also as I mentioned it is working in tty shell.
However, this is my content

Doesn’t .bash_profile take president when existing?
Because:
NOTE: Keep in mind how Bash loads its configuration files, .bash_profile for login shells (and in macOS in terminal emulators like Terminal.app or iTerm2) and .bashrc for interactive shells (default mode in most of the GNU/Linux terminal emulators), to ensure that Bash-it is loaded correctly. A good “practice” is sourcing .bashrc into .bash_profile to keep things working in all the scenarios. To achieve this, you can add this snippet in your .bash_profile:
