I have 15.5.2 in arch Linux. Pretty much the same as manjaro.
In my /etc/fstab I have e.g.:
UUID=“46021680021674E1” /mnt/win10 ntfs3
See? There is nothing (i.e. EOL) after ntfs3.
I had already uninstalled ntfs-3g, so that can no longer mount anything on my system.
And what about fstab options for ntfs3?
Are those the same?
If I I already have ntfs drive in fstab can I just change it to ntfs3?
I have dual boot with Windows.
I don’t know for sure, but speaking from experience, mine does not like any options after ntfs3.

What happened that you believe you can say this?
Well, the system not booting, I had to enter the root password to proceed to edit my /etc/fstab and then I had rebooted.

This only tells you that the options you applied did not work, but it’s a bit early to say
Yup, I tried without any options, just " 0 0" and did not like that, either.

Are you sure ntfs3 is a supported fs-type in fstab? Where did you read this?
I’m sure because it does work. It has mounted okay, while ntfs-3g was uninstalled.
Otherwise, about the options: I don’t know. It works for me, so I don’t bother with the options.

I think the way you come to a conclusion is questionable. What happens if you replace ntfs3 by ntfs in combination with previous options? Using a type without justification is outrageous.
I am not a theorist of Linux. I only care that the system works.

As these settings are not justified I will hide the thread from the public.
