Error when switching branch

Hi, curious about plasma 6.5, I tried to switch branch, from stable to testing. After running

  1. sudo pacman-mirrors --api --set-branch testing
  2. sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack 5 && sudo pacman -Syu

I get

Looks like bad mirror at first glance. Wait a bit and repeat refreshing mirrors. (With Syyu as the others suggest, only this time)

When you switch branches (and generally only if you have switched branches) include the extra y:

sudo pacman -Syyu

You need unstable branch to try Plasma 6.5. Also, use pacman -Syyu when switching branches.

You won’t find 6.5 in testing branch, anyway. For 6.5 you’ll have to switch to Unstable:

You were all right. I meant plasma 6.4. As I have a 2in1 I want to try if I get better support for my yoga x390. Syyu made the trick, system updating as I write …

the wiki needs an update though. the -Syu i copy&paste from the wiki ….

And Plasma 6.5 work really great - even on a gaming test laptop Lenovo Legion with Nvidia 5070.

I have been testing gaming experience on Wayland with Nvidia and prime-run - the few games I tested work without issues.

How about the menu? For quite a while I just punched ‘bar’ to get Beyond All Reason to load, now it pulls up KAlarm as the top answer in krunner, and Marble comes up in the menu…

Strange - but not a major problem, I guess it’ll get ironed out soon enough.

That would require that something with bar in name or description exist… but I am completely green in gaming - I quickly loose interest…

I can get all my House of Da Vinci by typing house - when I type bar the result is Jack

The point being that the ‘fuzzy’ nature of krunner/menu search has changed, bar worked for a pretty long time; the fact that ‘marble’ and ‘bitwarden’ come up first is just a bit weird, it’s gone 100% fuzzy.

After a bottle of Jack I 100% fuzzy

 Sure, but with Plasma, hopefully it won’t be permanent
