How do you mean? MHWD shows video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-470xx-prime is installed.

When I use the nvidia-settings command, or when I just use a browser and all the video load goes to the processor

I replaced the driver with video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime, in the hope that this will fix the situation, but everything remained as it was.

The driver itself is installed but won’t load because the bbswitch/bumblebee has been dodgy since the dual graphics invention. Installing the Optimus Manager worked for me but the latest version 1.4-3 caused troubles and I currently ignore it.

What are you on about? There is nothing bbswitch related above.
And optimus manager would simply force ‘intel only’, ‘nvidia only’ or ‘hybrid’ configurations … with hybrid being how PRIME works already.
Which is what they have as shown by video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-470xx-prime
(prime is not the same as bumblebee)
@Rick189 just doesnt understand how it works… which is with prime-run

Seems that the NVDIA driver 470xx isn’t compatible with your GPU. What’s your GPU model, run from inxi -Fazy. I suspect your GPU should use the NVDIA driver 390xx.

Upon inspection, your GPU model should use NVDIA driver 390xx. This can be confirmed from NVIDIA DRIVERS Linux x64 (AMD64/EM64T) Display Driver.

You should install and use video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-390xx-bumblebee instead. Note that you use bumblebee instead of prime for this driver.

Well, I put it wrong. The graphics card switching doesn’t work properly since the dual graphics invention. If it did people wouldn’t be looking for help with it.
I also support the 390 driver. Perhaps it will work without the OM.
