Error: multilib.db: GPGME error: No data

Hello guys,
When I want to update/install packages via pacman I receive the following error:

Error: multilib.db: GPGME error: No data
Failed to synchronize databases

I (probably) have tried numerous times updating the keys, removing cached files and refetching the mirrors.

Yes, I am indeed quite new to manjaro. I also did loads of research and reading through forums but none of the suggested solutions that obviously helped others did help me.

If you need any config files or such don’t blame me for not having posted it right away :smiley:

Thanks a lot!

Do you have the same issues with pamac upgrade in the terminal or using pamac gui.

What is the command you typed that gives the error?

only one : pacman.conf :wink:

Alright, thanks a lot for your fast response.

The command I run was:

# pamac update

comment or remove this line SigLevel !

Alright, thanks a lot guys, that did help. Tbh I’m a bit ashamed that I didn’t came across that rather simple solution…

Is there any logical explanation, that out of the middle of nowhere multilib didn’t wanted to function anymore? And is there any disadvantage in having the DataBase SigLevel on DatabaseNever than DatabaseOptional?

Not for the time being.

All packages are signed and this is a requirement as per global settings in pacman.conf thus making database signing unnecessary.

# By default, pacman accepts packages signed by keys that its local keyring
# trusts (see pacman-key and its man page), as well as unsigned packages.
SigLevel    = Required DatabaseOptional
LocalFileSigLevel = Optional
#RemoteFileSigLevel = Required

You should read the comment thread for the above root tip as this will provide insight in some of the why’s which undoubtedly arises when encountering such issue…
