I am trying to change the kernel but I always get the same error during the installation:
looking for conflicting packages...
:: installing nvidia-440xx-utils (440.100-1) breaks dependency 'nvidia-440xx-utils=440.82' required by linux56-nvidia-440xx
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
How can I fix that?
Thanks

Did you remember to update before trying to install a kernel? My guess would be you installed from the now outdated old isoβs and have not yet updated.
What is your current installed kernel and what kernel are you trying to install?

I would start with reading this nice tutorial:
Difficulty: β
ββββ
If you are attempting to change driver selection through Manjaro Settings Manager or mhwd and you receive a message similar to
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing XXXXX breaks dependency 'xxxxx' required by nnnnn
Error: pacman failed!
Error: script failed!
then there are 2 things to keep in mind.
It is usually easier to install a new profile than attempting to remove one first.
(especially if is a related upgrade, such as nviβ¦
It should solve your issue.
