Keyboard backlight fading on and off

Hello,

does anyone know how to disable the keyboard backlight from fading continuously on/off? I don’t see the option in the System Settings and I haven’t been able to find a command for that.

These are my settings:

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Kernel Version: 6.1.25-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 12 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12450H
Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Graphics
Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Product Name: ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX517ZE_FX517ZE
System Version: 1.0

Hi @bejuco,

We needz moar infos! Please help us help you and provide the output of:

inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width

Edit:

Considering:

I recommend having a look here:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Asusctl

Which is in the AUR, so can be installed with:

pamac build asusctl

More info:

https://asus-linux.org/

This may help:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboard_backlight

If the backlight behavior is more akin to customization effects, you may need a dedicated tool such as openrgb (if supported).

how did you get the keyboard backlight to work in the first place?
i also have an asus tuf laptop.

Looks like AURA-support (BIOS) - my ASUS B550 can do - I donot like…

Hi @Mirdarthos, thanks you for all the info.

I was looking to the asusctl package but I’m getting some build errors, seems like its necessary to install supergfxctl and for that I need to remove any distro provided methods of graphics switching (like prime).

This is the inxi print:

Hi @maycne.sonahoz, thanks for the info. I tried with OpenRGB but my device is not listed. I guess is not supported. I also tried with brightnessctl and xset but none of them seem to have an option for animation/fading parameters.

Thank you, it was an AURA configuration in Windows. Not on the BIOS utility directly but in the desktop app.

Sorry everybody for opening a topic for such a silly error! Thank you and have a good day.
