Error: failed to synchronize all databases (no servers configured for repository)

I’m getting the following error: error: failed to synchronize all databases (no servers configured for repository)

when I run sudo pacman -Syu

I read several articles about this problem, and ran sudo pacman-mirrors -c United_States

and now the mirrorlist file shows that it was updated and has multiple entries.

I’ve read multiple posts on this topic that said updating the mirrorlist file solved this problem, but in my case I’m still getting the error listed above.

Do you have suggestions for what I should try next? Thanks.

Probably the issue is as per recent post Error 404: Failed to prepare transaction - #9 by cscs

ie that you still have the community repo in pacman.conf.

No amount of refreshing will make that go away.

I found removing this ALSO caused a whole raft of apparently missing dependencies of the type reported in Dependencies cannot be satisfied on update - #4 by Nachlese to disappear.

Thank you. I had coomented out the lines below Community in pacman.conf but failed to understand that Community needed to be commented out too. All fixed. thanks.
