Error bootloader

Hi !
Dude, i’m son mad, i realy need help…
I use manjaro (on KDE) since 2 month. He IS install on a external HDD and i’m booting on Évry day. This morning After some trouble i decide to reinstall manjaro. The problem is : when thé install finish i’ve “the bootloader could not be installed”…
I search on the web but nothing work… I logo if all IS good in the bios, and it’s… i don’t know what to do next…

I tried to install Manjaro 21.1.6 (iso burned on DVD) on my Thinkpad – no go. It grinds away for a long, long time (20 minutes??) with no feedback, no video and finally issues a multitude of failure notices and dies.

I’m looking at a PinePhone to have real linux and real Java in my pocket. What a dream come true. With only 4GB of memory (and a small battery) I thought I would test how much could be done with a PinePhone but, alas, that will not happen at this point.

Ok, but that’s not realy helpfull ^^"

Just letting you know you are not alone!! Hopefully someone who knows what to do about install failures will come to our rescue…

Hello @solidracoon and welcome

Please start with some basic information…

Open a terminal and copy&paste each command there plus press enter.

inxi --full --admin --filter --width 80
sudo parted -l
test -d /sys/firmware/efi && echo efi || echo bios
efibootmgr -v

And post it here as code.

Thanks

Thx for your help !

I’ve enter the comand on the live usb, i don’t no if it’s what u whant ^^"

Since the issue comes from the UEFI, please update the UEFI Firmware first.

On the website:

date: Jul 16, 2021
version: 01.36 Rev.A

HP ProBook x360 11 G1 EE Notebook PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support

It seem’s there IS no drivers on the link u give me :0 and it’s strange bcs it works Yesterday, si why the uefi driver bug now ?

Look under BIOS.

Another thing could that the NVRAM is full or there was an update of efivarfs… :man_shrugging:

Ok indon’t see thé drivers bcs i’m with m’y phone ^^ it’s dangourous to change the bios driver ? I never do this, IS it simple ?

It is simple…

On Windows just download the exe file, run it and update. Always: Don’t abort the process and keep sure there is no possible power loss while updating, since that can brick your system.

Ok let’s go, thx Bro’ i try this

Ok, maj bios done ! I retry manjaro instal’

Nope… that not work :’( same message error

I try some stuff today but nothing works. It seems thé problem is recurent with HP.
When i manuali try to install thé GRUB i Always have some error…

Try to reset the UEFI and remove some unnecessary entries. :man_shrugging:

Most likely a UEFI issue but

When i manuali try to install thé GRUB

You are trying to install grub to the efi partition on sda, your actual Win drive, right?
