I’ve just bought a Acer Aspire 3 which has the wifi card from MediaTek.
Apparently there is no Linux Driver fpr this as yet.
Does anyone know if one is in the works?
Or have I jus bought an expensive brick?

Use a USB wifi adapter or replace the card inside the laptop.
Thanks for the quick response.
That basically confirms what I’ve already found out, namely that no drivers currently exist and the only solution is to buy a dongle.
Considering that this is a Christmas present for my elderly mother, I don’t really want to mess about with external hardware.
The wrapper solution using Windows drivers seems to have very limited success from what I can see.
But thanks anyway.
Are you sure? Did you search the internet for something like, MediaTek 7902 Linux driver?
