Does this notification affect the sleep time? For example, my laptop will go to sleep after 10 min. of inactivity, if a notification from this systemd service is launched 8 min. after my last activity, will the sleep timer get reset?
The timer has nothing to do with sleep.
It checks the battery level - and notifies accordingly.
Well, I interpret the execution of the send-notify command as an activity, which if true, then it will reset the timer to sleep.
Test it …
There is always activity while the system is running, but this is not the same thing as user activity.
User activity is input via the keyboard or the mouse, or alternatively, a touchpad. The systemd service does not count as user input.
