I wanted to install manjaro-iso-downloader today (KDE Plasma 5.27.11), but when I saw all the stuff that is installed as a dependency, I lost interest. What good does it do me, apart from an additional verification of the ISO, which I can also do manually?

A lot of those depends you are grabbing are pretty basic packages that would often otherwise be already present.
woff is fonts. aria2 is download management gspell is gtk spelling checker webkit2gtk is gtk web content engine and often required by things like gamehub or telegram yad is a dialogue kit, a modernized zenity.
etc.
Nothing really.
As mentioned above it will use aria for the download so that may be more efficient than whatever other method you use.
It also provides all this functionality in a GUI so it is less scary to less experienced users.
But no, there arent many (or any) real technical benefits to using it over a regular download/check if you are comfortable doing that yourself.
