Does Canon Printers well supported

I plan to by a new printer.
Canon i-Sensys MF742Cdw looks good for me.

Does anybody use such an - or an similar - multi- functional - printer with Manjaro?

Does Canon printers well supported ( even with cups)?

This side:

offers the driver for Linux.

Should work well.
Just have a look on the manufacturers webside, if they offer a Linux driver.

Arch User Repository has package cnrdrvcups-lb with the latest driver version available from Canon website – linux-UFRII-drv-v540-uken-08.tar.gz

Thanks, I’ve seen this page. But I also have an old Brother HL530… Brother also has Linux-Driver to download at their page, but it’s really painfully to install and use.

There is no cups support, and you have to install it manually by your own. Think it’s something like an lpr driver.

If I buy a new Printer, I’d like to have a very good support (even like cups), and with minor effort to get all the parts of the printer to work.

I have a Canon Pixma G2100 , I think that´s the name. Has a scanner, and printer, and I haven´t had any issues with it with Manjaro.

AUR search shows 2 packages for Brother HL53050dn

I have bought a Kyocera P 6320cdn printer.
A CUPS driver is available and easy to install via CUPS setup page.

@Elyte Was it hard to setup? Or was it out of the box working by choosing a driver in the printer-setup?
@nikgnomic thanks for your research
@Keruskerfuerst thanks for this suggestion.

In my case , I just plugged it and everything worked out of the box.
