Hi All,
So I did a fresh install of Manjaro KDE on my “new” (five years old but new to me) computer last night.
It went fairly smoothly as expected except for a couple of odd issues.
I use the Displayport as both a video out and audio output.
However, the Displayport is not listed as an option for audio out.
The only options I have are internal speaker, the headphone jack and the headset jack.
I did a search of the forum and saw a suggestion on one thread to install manjaro-pipewire; I tried that but it didn’t help. I just installed it, I did not run any other command.
I then tried the suggestion from this post as it was the closest matching my problem, but it didn’t work either:
I actually no longer have sound coming out of the internal speaker!
I changed the file back to the original and updated grub but no luck in getting my internal speaker working again or having my Displayport show up as an option.
I tried Google but didn’t find the answer there either.
Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue. Only solution was manually adjust the pins, since they were not registered automatically because the chip/firmware was slightly modified by HP in that case:
I noted that there is a line above that states Sep 16 19:14:58 kernel: snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: dmic_detect option is deprecated, pass snd-intel-dspcfg.dsp_driver=1 option instead
I’m not sure if that helps troubleshoot the problem.
My “new” computer where I’m experiencing this and other issues is an HP 800 G4 mini.
My “old” computer where everything Manjaro works just great, is an HP 600 G1 mini.
I’ll try the solution from the thread you included and see if that does the trick.
Wish me luck!
Edit:
And my internal speaker stopped working again.
Perhaps installing Manjaro-pipewire has caused a conflict.
Maybe I should uninstall it, although I’ve read in other people’s posts that that may not be possible…
