Disable shadows on Plasma

As far my Panels have a thin layer of shadows at them. Is it possible to disable that shadow on the panels?

You can by using:
xprop -remove _KDE_NET_WM_SHADOW
as a startup script or run it manually.

Or try what our kind friend @cscs recommended in the archived forum at one point:

Its built into the theme.
You have to edit things by hand. Some vector images IIRC. So inkscape time.

…yup. looks like
/usr/share/plasma/desktopthem/THEME/widgets/panel-background.svg
or
~/.local/share/plasma/desktopthem/THEME/widgets/panel-background.svg
depending on where its located.

I suggest copying to a new THEME folder in the .local path like above, and messing with it from there.

stopping by to add that after a quick search its confirmed with some extra info:

panel-background.svg[z] ## for panels
background.svg[z] ## for popup windows
tooltip.svg[z] ## for tooltips
translucentbackground.svg[z] ## for desktop widgets.
