So I am having some serious issues with the builtin shortcuts/functions that manjaro comes with. I use several art programs and the selection tools often require me to use “ctrl + alt + left click and drag” to do things like deselecting a specific area. That or “alt + left click” to pick a color at a specific point. The problem lies in that these all link to moving the window around for some reason and I can’t seem to find where these shortcuts are or how to remove them so that they aren’t messing with me as I try to work.
it depends on the desktop environment you are using where and how you find the predefined shortcuts and where you then can adapt them
Usually you will find the relevant section in the settings manager of the system in question
Plasma has a System Settings → Keyboard → Shortcuts
You may need to look at the window manager settings as the specific combo you mention may be mapped to functions related to window size and location.
I’ve already checked there, but can’t seem to find anything bound to “alt + left click”. In fact, nothing in the keyboard shortcuts even mentions mouse input, probably because it isn’t supposed to handle that.
I’m on the cinnamon build of manjaro. Not sure how much that changes, but the keyboard shortcuts seem to be in the system setting still. Though they seem to have nothing to do with this strange behavior.
So you press alt - then click left mouse button?
There is a difference to pressing a key board combo in connection with a mouse click and such action is usually application specific - but there is no way of knowing with the little info you provide.
So I just found it… For some reason it is located in System Settings → Windows → Behavior.
